Yet Another Whisper Notetaker

A meeting notetaker that keeps everything on your Mac. Your audio and transcripts never leave the machine — there is no cloud, no account, and no telemetry. Transcription runs locally on Whisper, after the meeting ends.

What it does today

Records your microphone plus the meeting audio your Mac plays, on your say-so — manual start, manual stop.
Transcribes locally after the meeting, then lets you search every word.
Recovers the recording on next launch if the app or your Mac dies mid-meeting.
Deletes audio you don't want kept, with review, and proves the deletion.

What it doesn't do yet, on purpose

No automatic meeting notes — they ship when they're good enough to trust, not before.
No voice isolation yet (knowing who said what) — in measurement now.
No auto-updates — new builds arrive as new downloads.

0.2.1 replaces 0.2.0, which shipped without its record and search screens. If you installed 0.2.0, download this build and drag it into Applications again — nothing else to clean up.

Install

Download, then verify the file matches the checksum above before opening it:

Open the DMG and drag the app to Applications, then launch it from Applications.
The app installs as Local Meeting Notes — YAWN is its brand name; the app itself gets renamed in a later release.
macOS will ask for Microphone and System Audio Recording permission on first use. Both are needed to capture a meeting.

If macOS refuses to open the app or shows anything unusual at first launch, report exactly what it said — that's the most valuable bug you can file.

The honest part

This is an internal alpha. It records people — so tell the room, and when in doubt, ask; some places require everyone's consent. Use headphones in remote meetings to keep the audio clean. And when you report a bug, tell us what happened, never what was said: nothing you record can leave your machine, and we hold ourselves to that in testing too.
